First Biennial of Illustration

In 2018 Pictoline organized the First Biennial of Illustration in Mexico City, an exhibition created to compile and show the work of illustrators inside and outside the country.

Illustration is one of the fastest growing artistic manifestations in recent decades, however, despite the rise and enormous talent, there was still no exhibition in Latin America that recognized illustration as an artistic expression in the whole sense of the word. That is why in 2018 Pictoline organized the First Biennial of Illustration in Mexico City.

The jury of this first edition consisted of internationally renowned illustration giants: Malika Favre, Gary Baseman, Mcbess, David Sánchez and Matthew Cruickshank (art director of Google Doodles internationally). With more than 4,500 inscriptions and one of the most visited exhibits of 2018, the Biennial of Illustration consolidated as a prestigious platform for new visual expressions.
